Summary of Position :

The Country Manager will have proven experience overseeing operations, and ideally human resources, finance, IT and operation departments, too. The candidate will be an experienced communicator with a strong ability to delegate responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments across the greater Group. Ultimately, the Country Manager will be driven by the desire to lead a team toward maximum productivity and efficiency.

The Country Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate commitments and company policies. This role involves effective management of the team, their motivation, training, and overseeing facility operations. The Country Manager is an experienced professional who has held similar roles in related industries and is capable of working and presenting at a senior level.

The position calls for engagement with multiple markets and revenue generating opportunities located in the region and reporting into the Group as required at the direction of the Regional Manager.

Position specific Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) have been defined for this role which shall be used to measure and review broad performance on a regular basis and which may be adjusted time-to-time in consultation with your reporting manager.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for business expansion and growth by establishing new relationships.
  • Engage in visionary and strategic thinking to drive long-term business success.
  • Implement and manage business continuity plans.

Leadership and Relationship Management

  • Foster a strong, collaborative relationship with the Group's top management team.
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and high-quality standards.
  • Uphold and promote ethical standards and values within the organization.
  • Promote people development and provide opportunities for growth via appropriate leadership, management, training and mentorship
  • Represent the Group as directed and empowered on matters of operational and commercial compliance, regulation and company officer authority
  • Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, assign weekly performance goals, and ensure their timely completion alongside personal goals.
  • Review and enhance organizational effectiveness by developing robust processes, overseeing employees, and cultivating a motivated work environment.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in service orientation and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure tasks are accomplished on time.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate business risks.
  • Uphold and improve quality standards across all operations.
  • Develop, nurture and maintain partnerships with critical service providers to ensure effective and continuous delivery of services
  • Budget and Resource Management

  • Identify, Resource and Capitalise upon profitable Revenue Generating opportunities in line with Group service offerings and initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and manage budgetary and resource allocation plans.
  • Oversee the P&L for the country / business in collaboration with the financial head.
  • Ensure cost-effective utilization of personnel and assets.
  • Understand and act upon financial audit results to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive results through effective financial management and analysis.
  • Delegation and Compliance

  • Delegate responsibilities to the most suitable employees, ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and cultural values.
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently for the mutual benefit of all parties involved.
  • Provide advice and assistance to local management in planning, administering, implementing, and evaluating improvements to operating and technical policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Determine and monitor workforce requirements.
  • IT and Systems Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Group IT management team to identify and implement system and requirement improvements.
  • Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ)

  • Promote HSSEQ through safety leadership to all staff, contractors, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and client HSSEQ regulations.
  • Adaptability and Change Management

  • Manage change effectively and adapt to evolving business environments.
  • Experience & Education Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the energy and logistics industry.
  • Facility / base operations management experience.
  • Tertiary education in engineering / management or a related field is preferred.
  • In the absence of formal tertiary qualification, 10 years of appropriate work experience in the energy and logistics industry
  • Knowledge and application of international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lifting equipment and oilfield drilling equipment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is a must
  • Willingness to learn new technical systems.
  • Cultural awareness and international work experience.
