We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and hands-on 𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥 to oversee the daily operations of a stunning boutique-style property in Vilanculos, Mozambique.
This intimate, high-end villa accommodates a small number of exclusive guests and offers an understated, effortless luxury experience. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, structure, and sophistication to every aspect of the guest journey.
Candidate Responsibilities :
- Deliver seamless, high-touch guest service from pre-arrival communications to on-site hosting. Be present but unobtrusive, ensuring guest needs are anticipated and met with care and attention.
- Oversee and mentor a team of 8–10, helping to build capacity and confidence within a young but committed team. Implement practical, visible systems to ensure consistent 5-star delivery.
- Create and manage standard operating systems across all areas—suites, public spaces, pool, gardens, kitchen, laundry, and more. Ensure all areas meet luxury presentation and cleanliness standards at all times.
- Monitor catering and cleaning supply levels, ensuring ordering is appropriate to occupancy and usage.
- Manage staff leave rosters and daily schedules in a way that supports the business needs while preventing leave accumulation.
- Maintain high standards for punctual meals, consistent food presentation, and overall guest-facing service delivery.
- Serve as the primary on-the-ground point of contact for hands-on owners based in Johannesburg. Provide proactive feedback, updates, and follow-through on all requests and maintenance issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trusted third-party service providers and local partners for excursions, services, and maintenance.
Candidate Requirements :
Previous experience in a senior hospitality role (Department Head or above), preferably in a luxury boutique or lodge environment.A natural systems thinker who brings structure, order, and accountability to daily operations.High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and an energetic, solution-oriented mindset.Proven ability to lead by example and uplift a team through positive mentorship.Fluent in English; Portuguese is an advantage.Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence engaging with guests, owners, and suppliers.Well-organised and systematic in approach to multitasking and delegation.Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Vilanculos. A living allowance is provided, and assistance will be given in securing accommodation.Preference will be given to candidates with Mozambican work documents or those eligible to work in Mozambique, though permit support can be offered for the right person.This is a live-out position (housing allowance)
