Assistant Finance Manager

The first MSC agency in Mozambique was foundedin 1995. Since then, MSC Mozambique has expanded to cover the country’s three main ports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala. Today, we have more than 130 employees based in our offices in Maputo, Beira and Nacala, in addition to our depot and warehouse in Beira.
We offer global network coverage as well as local market knowledge. Our services further extend along the logistic corridors to the neighbouring countries of Malawi, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Through the work of our dedicated teams of experts and the support of our valued clients, MSC has become the leading container shipping line in the country and a dominant force on the inland transportation corridors that connect Mozambican ports to the region.

About the Role

Monitoring & Audit:

Maintain inter-company, suppliers’ and clients’ current accounts through effective control of expenses and disbursement accounts and conducting relevant weekly and monthly reconciliations;
Organize and compile relevant financial data for control of revenues and costs and report to Finance Manager;
Monitor the Finance & Accounting activities (planning, documentation, processes, accuracy, reporting, training's and follow of SOP’s)
Liaise and work closely with other team members, other agencies and where relevant directly with clients and suppliers;
Conduct follow-ups with relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient discharge of their duties;
Follow up and control the import processes done from overseas;
Follow up the procurement process concerning to approval of expenses (booking & payment as per terms & conditions)
Ensure queries directed to Finance/Accounting department are attended to timeously

Reporting:

Consolidation of monthly reporting of: Financial Management, Revenues Expectations, Terminal P&L, verification of supplier's reconciliations and others requested reports to ensure accurate financial and accounting information

Team Management:

Monthly follow up of performance, engagement, goals and development of each team member from Team to promote the best performance from Department / Agency / Company.
Follow up the staff development plans and ensure that all staff members complete training’s and professional development programs as identified and/or assigned.
Follow up the staff reporting on Pulse – Team objectives.
Ensure discipline in staff is always maintained including monitoring work attendance and employee leave management.


Qualifications & Experience

Accounting or Finance Degree
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
Professional certification in Finance/Accounting would be advantageous
